Research Interests: Catalysis for Olefin Hydroarylation, Metal-Mediated C-H Activation of Hydrocarbons

Research Description:

My research is focused on the development of iron systems for catalytic olefin hydroarylation.  With our group having extensively studied the electronic and steric effects on the activity of the TpRu moiety, I am interested in investigating the role that metal identity has on catalysis.  In addition, using iron, a less expensive and more abundant metal, could provide a more economical and environmentally friendly alternative to C-C bond forming methodologies currently used in industry.
